Kansas To Cut Medicaid Reimbursement Rates By 4% To Health Plans, But No Cut To HCBS Waiver Rates
The Kansas Medicaid program plans to cut statewide reimbursement rates by 4% starting July 1, 2016; however rates for the home-and community-based services (HCBS) waivers will not be cut. Additionally, Medicaid rates will not be cut for care and treatment provided to Medicaid beneficiaries by the state hospitals, and by 100 critical-access hospitals in rural Kansas.
In total, combined state general funding for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) will drop by $57.4 million. Before KDHE and KDADS can implement the rate cut, it . . .
