Florida Judge Rules Charter Schools Do Not Have To Provide Transportation
On June 30, 2015, Florida Administrative Law Judge Darren Schwartz ruled that state law does not require charter schools to provide bus transportation to students in Renaissance Charter School, Inc., & Renaissance Charter School at Tradition v. St. Lucie County Florida School Board. In the case, the St. Lucie County School Board had sought to force the Renaissance Charter School at Tradition in St. Lucie County, Florida school to provide student transportation or pay the St. Lucie County Public Schools for doing so.
