Iowa Medicaid To End Premium Assistance Medicaid Expansion Plans
On July 17, 2015, the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) submitted a Medicaid waiver to modify its 1115 demonstration (called the Iowa Wellness Plan) for the Medicaid expansion population. The state plans to end its premium assistance plan (called Marketplace Choice) for people earning 101% to 133% of the federal poverty level (FPL) who were required to enroll in qualified health plans (QHPs) through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
