On May 15, 2019, the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) announced plans to overhaul its Intact Family Services program, a community-based in-home program that works with families identified as at risk for placement in foster care. The overhaul will start with three actions. DCFS will launch a review of open investigations with a focus on compliance with key safety measures.
