Illinois DCFS & Cook County Launch New Program To Reduce Placement Wait Times For Youth In Juvenile Detention

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) launched a new pilot program to speed up placements of youth in DCFS custody detained at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (JTDC). The program is called Regenerations; it launched in July 2015. The program is a partnership between Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois (LCFS) and Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. (YAP). The Regenerations Program Team will provide intensive home- and community-based wraparound services to up to 65 DCFS-involved youth annually.
