IBM Research & UC San Diego Collaborate To Use Artificial Intelligence To Support Older Adult Independent Living
On September 28, 2017, IBM and the University of California at San Diego (UC-SD) announced plans to collaborate on research using IBM artificial intelligence technology to develop a cognitive framework to provide a supportive environment that helps older adults live independently with higher quality of life. The research will focus first on developing the cognitive framework, and then assessing it. During the project, the team anticipates that machine learning algorithms for sensing, understanding, modeling, personalizing and informing will be developed, with consideration to human-centered design, and testing in real world environments.
