Hospice Utilization Rate Is 70.8% For Cancer Deaths & 45.4% For Non-Cancer Deaths
About 70.8% of adults age 50 and older who died due to cancer and 45.4% of those who died of non-cancer-related conditions between 2012 and 2014 used hospice care. Overall, about 52.4% of older adults who died during that period due to cancer or other terminal illness used hospice services.
