Healthfirst Launches In-Home Medical Care Program For Complex Conditions
On August 1, 2019, Healthfirst launched an in-home medical care benefit for Medicare Advantage members with complex conditions, such as diabetes, coronary heart disease and chronic kidney disease, along with social or behavioral needs. The voluntary program includes routine and urgent house calls 24 hours per day, seven days per week. There is no cost to the participants.
Healthfirst is a large not-for-profit health insurer in New York state with nearly 1.4 million members. Nearly 7,500 Healthfirst Medicare Advantage members are projected to be eligible for the Landmark Health program.
