Health Care Costs 33% Higher For Middle-Aged Adults With Hearing Loss Compared To Those Without Hearing Loss

Average annual health care costs for adults ages 55 to 64 are 33% higher for those who have hearing impairment, at $14,165 compared to $10,629 for those without hearing loss. Among adults with hearing loss who used hearing services to obtain hearing aids and other interventions, total annual health care costs were $13,797.
