Hawaii Nursing Homes Have Highest Average Overall Quality Scores Nationwide; Texas Has The Lowest
Based on a nationwide survey, Medicare covered Nursing Homes were evaluated with an overall quality star rating, with the range being from one to five, with five being the top score, Hawaii facilities averaged 3.93, the highest ranking. Texas had the lowest average score at 2.68.
These findings were reported in "Nursing Homes in America" by Care.com. The authors analyzed recent Medicare Nursing Home Compare star ratings data, and surveyed 978 people who had family members in nursing homes using Amazon's MTurk community.
