Google Files Patent To Develop Technology To Predict Medical Events From EHR Record
On January 31, 2019, the United States Patent and Trademark Office published a U.S. Patent Application Publication by Google, Inc. (Google) for a "system and method for predicting and summarizing medical events from electronic health records." The patent was originally filed on August 30, 2017. Among the inventors on the application are 22 Google employees, particularly from the Google Brain team, or its artificial intelligence (AI) division, including AI lead Jeffrey Dean.
