On August 2, 2019, Centene Corporation announced that the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) awarded a $536.5 million contract for jail mental health and dental services to Centurion, a Centene subsidiary. Centurion was the incumbent to the contract, and has held it since 1997 under the name MHM Correctional Services, Inc. (MHM).
