On April 21, 2016, the Fulton County, Georgia Board of Commissioners approved a proposal from the county Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) to outsource mental health services that are currently provided by county-run facilities. The plan calls for the county to reorganize DBHDD and to issue a request for proposal (RFP) by the end of June 2016 to contract with a network of provider organizations to deliver mental health services, operations, and functions.
