Florida To Move Medicaid Children’s Medical Services Program To Privatized Managed Care
The Florida Department of Health (DOH) plans to privatize management of the Children’s Medical Services Managed Care plan (CMS plan). On January 30, 2018, the DOH, Office of Children’s Medical Services released an invitation to negotiate (ITN DOH 17-026) for a contractor(s) to provide comprehensive managed care services for the CMS plan. Currently, the CMS plan uses a managed care financing model that is run by the state. The CMS plan provides Medicaid health care services to children ages zero to 20 with serious chronic physical or developmental conditions.
