Florida Medicaid Extends Moratorium On Behavior Analysis Provider Enrollment In Miami-Dade & Broward Counties
On November 13, 2018, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) extended its moratorium on enrollment of new behavior analysis provider organizations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties for six more months. The moratorium was initially enacted on May 14, 2018. The Florida Medicaid behavior analysis service is for child Medicaid beneficiaries with significant behavioral issues (for example, children with autism who injure themselves or others); the service is usually delivered in the child’s home.
The moratorium does not affect consumers’ ability to obtain services. AHCA said that no Medicaid recipients will go without necessary services. Since May . . .
