Florida Auditor Cites Documentation Problems With Child Welfare Lead Agency Contracts
The Florida Office of the Auditor General has found problems with the Florida Department of Children and Families' (DCF) oversight of its Community Based Care (CBC) child welfare lead agencies, particularly its oversight of contract payment reconciliation. The auditor said DCF had not always adequately conducted, documented, reviewed, and reported the results of CBC monitoring. In particular, DCF failed to conduct overall reconciliations between expenditure and service data across state accounting and grant tracking systems.
