First-Ever Arizona Autism Charter School To Open Enrollment For Fall 2014
In January 2014, the first public charter school in Arizona specifically for elementary students diagnosed with autism launched enrollment in the Phoenix area for the 2014-2015 school year. The Arizona Autism Charter School (AZACS) seeks to enroll about 80 children in kindergarten through 4th grade. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is part of the curriculum. The school also offers after school center-based habilitation programs, social groups, and therapies.
