Two-Thirds Of Adults With High Deductible Health Plans Have A Health Savings Account; Most Do Not Contribute

About 67% of adults ages 18 to 64 enrolled in a high deductible health plan (HDHP) have a health savings account, but 55% do not contribute. About one-third of HDHP enrollees do not have a health savings account. Among HDHP enrollees with a health savings account who contributed money to it in the past 12 months, the most frequent level of contribution was $2,000 or more.
