Federal Health IT Coordinator Sets 2017 As Deadline For Interoperable EHRs
By 2017, electronic health records (EHRs) should be interoperable, according to a timeline proposed by the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) of Health Information Technology. On January 29, 2015, the ONC released the timeline and a set of critical actions that should be taken by a range of stakeholders to meet the target. ONC is accepting public comment on the plan through April 3, 2015.
