On June 5, 2019, the U.S. Department of Education began accepting applications from local educational agencies (LEAs) for Project Prevent grant programs to provide trauma support services for students. An LEA is defined as a school district, an entity which operates local public primary and secondary schools in the United States, or an entity that provides government services to schools within a local U.S. area.
