Emergency Department Admissions For Adolescent Sexual Abuse Rose 150% In Seven Years
The rate of emergency department (ED) admissions for child sexual abuse of adolescents, aged 12 to 17 years, rose 152% in seven years. Between 2010 and 2016, admissions for child sexual abuse of adolescents rose from 8.02 per 100,000 admissions in 2010 to 20.20 per 100,000 in 2016. During this period, the number of ED admissions for child sexual abuse increased by 72%, from 5,138 in 2010 to 8,818 in 2016.
