Eight States Sponsoring Medicaid ACOs; Nine States Pending
As of March 2015, eight state Medicaid programs were operating accountable care organizations (ACOs), and at least nine more states were in the process of developing Medicaid ACOs. The eight states currently operating Medicaid ACOs are: Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Oregon, Utah, and Vermont. The nine states pursuing Medicaid ACO programs are: Alabama, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Washington State.
