Due To Widespread School Closures, Feds To Grant States Relief On Educational Achievement Testing
On March 20, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education said it would grant waivers to states unable assess student educational progress because schools were closed due to the coronavirus public health emergency. The waivers provide relief from federally mandated testing requirements for this school year. States will also not be required to make annual accountability determinations, to identify schools for support and improvement, or to provide data on its state and local report cards for assessment and accountability information.
