District Of Columbia Transitions 19,000 Adult FFS Beneficiaries With Disabilities To Managed Care
On October 1, 2020, the District of Columbia (DC) Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) began transitioning about 19,000 current fee-for-service (FFS) adult beneficiaries with disabilities to its new Medicaid managed care contracts for the DC Healthy Families Program (DCHFP). The adult FFS population with disabilities was previously excluded from DCHFP enrollment; the population includes individuals aged 21 or older, and receiving Medicaid Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or SSI-related Medicaid because of a disability, or who previously opted-out of managed care.
