Direct Support Personnel Turnover Rate For I/DD Sector Averaged 45.5%

In 2016, the average rate of direct support personnel (DSP) turnover was 45.5%. The DSP workforce includes all paid workers whose primary job responsibility is to provide support, training, supervision, and personal assistance to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).

These findings were reported in “2016 Staff Stability Survey Report” by National Core Indicators through a collaboration of the Human Services Research Institute, and the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services.
