Dakota County Minnesota Launches Tech Program To Improve Police Interaction With Individuals With Behavioral Disabilities
Minnesota's Dakota County has rolled out a tech program, Vitals™ Aware Services (Vitals™), to help police and first responders interact more effectively with individuals with intellectual, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Vitals™ allows residents to enroll and provide information about themselves that will help officers in any given situation with that resident. That individual will then be provided a beacon in the form of a keychain, necklace, debit card, bracelet, or even their Android phone.
