CoreCivic Launches New Contract To House Vermont Prisoners In Mississippi
On October 1, 2018, CoreCivic launched a new contract with the Vermont Department of Corrections (VTDOC) to house up to 350 of the state’s inmates at the company’s 2,672-bed Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Tutwiler, Mississippi. Previously the VTDOC entered an interstate compact with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections to house Vermont prisoners at a prison in Camp Hill.
