Connecticut To Privatize State Office Of Protection & Advocacy For Persons With Disabilities

On April 12, 2016, Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that the state would transition the Office of Protection and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities to non-profit status effective December 1, 2016. The state budget allocates $1.5 million in state funds to support two contracts: One will be for $600,000 to support the continued operations of Abuse and Investigations and the Fatality Review Board efforts. The other will be for $950,000 for continued Protection and Advocacy activities.
