Pitkin County Colorado Launching ‘Be Well Initiative’ To Coordinate Behavioral Health Services
On August 9, 2017, the Pitkin County, Colorado commissioners approved funding to launch the county Department of Human Services (DHS) “Be Well Initiative” to better coordinate the county’s mental health and addiction treatment services. To launch the initiative, the county released a request for proposals (RFP) seeking a coordinator for behavioral health services funded by the county, the Aspen School District, the City of Aspen, and Aspen Valley Hospital. A key goal is reducing fragmentation by creating a mental health continuum of care that spans prevention to aftercare.
