Colorado YMCA Of The Rockies Granted Religious Use Property Tax Exemption

On July 31, 2014, the Colorado Board of Assessment Appeals (BAA) granted YMCA of the Rockies a 100% religious-use exemption from property taxes. The decision is retroactive to 2002. The ruling is the latest in a dispute dating back to 2003 between YMCA of the Rockies and Larimer and Grand counties. However, the matter is not yet completely settled, because on September 11, 2014, both counties filed another appeal for review of the BAA decisions for the property tax exemption granted to YMCA of the Rockies. No hearing date has been set.
