CMS Pushes Back Repayment Deadline For Medicare COVID Loans
On October 8, 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) pushed back the repayment deadline for $106 billion in payments issued under the Accelerated and Advance Payment (AAP) Program to more than 22,000 Part A provider organizations, and more than 28,000 Part B suppliers and clinical professionals. When the AAP Program was offered in March 2020, the terms called for repayments to begin in August 2020. Under the new terms, repayment must begin one-year from the date a provider organization or supplier was issued an accelerated or advanced payment through the program.
