CMS Approves Illinois’ Medicaid Updated Hospital Assessment Plan
On June 21, 2018, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner announced that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved the state’s updated Medicaid funding model known as the Hospital Assessment Program. The new model will use an updated data baseline, and ensure that more reimbursements are based on the actual services hospitals provide. The previous model provided supplemental payments to hospitals based on a static dataset.
