Chicago Expands Flexible Housing Pool With New Private Investments
On August 22, 2019, the City of Chicago, Illinois, announced an expansion of the Chicago and Cook County Flexible Housing Pool (FHP), which coordinates permanent supportive housing for homeless and at-risk city residents. The FHP recently received more than $1.8 million in new investments, including $1.5 million in private investments over the next three years. Blue Cross and Blue Shield invested $1 million, and Advocate Aurora Health invested $500,000. Additionally, the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System has pledged a $281,000 contribution this year and $350,000 for fiscal year 2020.
