Austin Launches ‘Guided Path’ Pilot Program To End Homeless Camping
On October 16, 2019, the city of Austin, Texas with City Council guidance started the “Guided Path” pilot program. The program’s initial goal is to end homeless camping outside the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH) by providing safe, stable, and permanent housing for every individual in the pilot. Efforts to end and prevent homelessness (Resolution 20190620-18) was approved at the June 20, 2019 Austin City Council meeting.
