California Shifting 24,000 Seniors & Persons With Disabilities In 19 Counties To Medi-Cal Managed Care
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is planning to mandatorily enroll approximately 24,000 Medicaid beneficiaries with disabilities who live in 19 rural managed care expansion counties into Medi-Cal managed care plans by December 1, 2014. The transition affects beneficiaries in the seniors and persons with disabilities (SPD) population in Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Imperial, Inyo, Mariposa, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Sutter, Tehama, Toulumne, and Yuba counties.
