The California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA) is actively seeking alternatives to state hospital beds. Since August 2015, CalMHSA had been working under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Correct Care Recovery Solutions (CCS) to identify alternatives and assess the feasibility of creating a privately-run psychiatric hospital that would create inpatient capacity as an alternative to state hospital beds.
