California Medicaid Plans For ‘Long-Term Care At Home’ Benefit To Feature Bundled Payment For Nursing Home Alternative
On June 24, 2020, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released a draft benefit design for a new “Long-Term Care at Home” benefit that will use a bundled payment strategy to pay for nursing home alternative services. DHCS intends to launch the new benefit in early 2021. The benefit is envisioned as an alternative to skilled nursing facility (SNF) placement to give beneficiaries additional choices in their care.
