California Medicaid Pursues Voluntary Enrollment Of Dual Eligibles In The Coordinated Care Initiative
On May 5, 2016, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) announced that in response to stakeholder feedback, DHCS will not move forward with annual passive enrollment in 2016. Instead, DHCS will pursue enrollment strategies that continue to support voluntary "opt-in" enrollment of dual eligibles in the Coordinated Care Initiative (CCI). These strategies will include beneficiary and provider outreach and education, as well as streamlined enrollment and mandatory managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS) plan enrollment.
