California Awards Medicaid FFS Prescription Drug Contract To Magellan
On December 12, 2019, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) awarded Magellan Medicaid Administration, Inc. (MMA) a contract to operate the state’s fee-for-service Medicaid drug program starting January 2021. The contract term is four years and 11 months with five optional one-year extension periods.
The contract is the outcome of an executive order issued on January 7, 2019, by California Governor Gavin Newsom.
