Buprenorphine Coverage Under Medicare Part D More Restrictive Than Coverage For Opioids
Buprenorphine coverage under Medicare Part D is more restrictive than coverage for opioids. The proportion of Medicare Advantage Plans with Part D (MAPDs) that offered access to buprenorphine without restrictions dropped from 89% in 2007 to 35% in 2018. The proportion of MAPDs that offered access to opioids without restrictions, rose from 93% of plans in 2007 to 100% in 2018.
