Ballad Health Creates New Behavioral Health Services Division
On August 1, 2019, Ballad Health announced the formation of a new behavioral health services division to spearhead its efforts to improve access to behavioral health services in northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia. A key goal is developing alternative solutions to reduce the incidence of emergency department psychiatric boarding.
Over the next 10 years, Ballad Health intends to invest $85 million to expand existing behavioral health services and develop new community-based mental health services like mobile crisis management and intensive outpatient treatment services.
