On February 28, 2017, Alabama Medicaid announced that five Alabama Healthcare Advantage (AHA) organizations planning to operate as Regional Care Organizations in the fall of 2017 were dropping out. The five had been among eight probationary RCOs working toward RCO status for the October 1, 2017, launch.
