ACF Rescinds Guidance On State TANF Waivers For Work Requirements
On August 30, 2017, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Office of Family Assistance (OFA) issued a notice informing states that it was rescinding its 2012 guidance allowing waivers for meeting the work requirements of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. Only Ohio had applied for such a waiver in October 2015, but ACF never responded to the application. Ohio’s request has now been formally denied.
