Colorado Passes Bills To Address Jail Behavioral Health
On May 16, 2018, the Colorado legislature sent two bills to the governor that are intended to address jail behavioral health issues by improving mental health screening and access to treatment, and launching diversion pilots. Senate Bill (SB) 18-250: Jail-based Behavioral Health Services continues to allow the correctional treatment cash fund to be used to provide treatment for persons with mental and behavioral health disorders who are being served through the jail-based behavioral health services program.
