8.5% Of Patients With Dementia Exhibited Criminal Behavior After Onset

Of patients with a dementia disorder, 8.5% developed a history of criminal behavior after their illness emerged. Dementing disorders include Alzheimer’s disease, behavioral variant of frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD), primary progressive aphasia, and Huntington disease. Among the different diagnoses, 7.7% of individuals with Alzheimer’s developed a criminal record, along with 37.4% with bvFTD, 27% with primary progressive aphasia, and 20% with Huntington disease.
