71% Of Physician Practice Revenue In Fee-For-Service
During 2016, about 71% of revenue received by physician practices was paid via fee-for-service (FFS). About 60% of physician practices received some revenue from at least one alternative payment model (APM) in 2016. About 35% of those participating in an APM were participating in value-based purchasing (VBP) arrangements such as pay-for-performance or bundled payment arrangements. However, the VBP arrangements were responsible for only 6.5% of practice revenue.
