63% Of Pediatricians Use A Standardized Tool For Developmental Screenings, Up From 21% In 2002
In 2016, about 63% of pediatricians reported using a standardized tool for developmental screenings. This is an increase from 21% in 2002. Moreover, the percentage of pediatricians who reported they were “very likely” to refer at-risk children to early intervention was 59% in 2016, up from 41% in 2002. “At risk” children include those with global developmental delay, milestone loss, language delay, sensory impairment, motor delays, and family concern.
