6% Of U.S. Children With Coronavirus Hospitalized Compared To 10% Of Adults
Early data from the United States indicates that 5.7% of children infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and 10.0% of adults were hospitalized for COVID-19 symptoms. Among 149,082 U.S. cases of COVID-19 reported as of April 2, 2020, for which age was known, 1.7% occurred in youth under age 18. Youth under age 18 represent about 22% of the U.S. population.
