27% Of Adults With Autism & Receiving Disability Services Have No Work Or Other Activities

About 27% of adults with autism who receive disability services are not working, and have no other activities. About 14% of adults with autism and receiving disability services have a competitive job in the community. About 42% worked in unpaid activities in facilities with other people. About 25% of adults with autism do not believe they are receiving all the services they need to participate in work and activities.  Disability services are defined as state-funded employment supports, respite, transportation, and residential supports.
