English Study Finds 9.8% Of English Adults With Four+ Chronic Conditions, Prevalence Projected To Double By 2035
Among adults in England age 65 and older in 2015, about 9.8% were diagnosed with four or more chronic health conditions. By 2035, the share of English adults age 65 and older with four or more chronic conditions is projected to increase to 17%. About two-thirds of these individuals will also have depression, dementia, or cognitive impairment. The prevalence of multi-morbidity is projected to rise with age and with successive cohorts.
